MAGNOPEL - MAGNESIUM HYDROXIDE PELLETS
The MAGNOPEL products are synthetic pellets of magnesium hydroxide filter material which are primarily used in acidic water treatment systems to reduce the corrosiveness and plumbosolvency of the water.

MAIN AREAS OF APPLICATION

POTABLE WATER

DE – IONISING SYSTEMS

SWIMMING POOL WATER

REVERSE OSMOSIS SYSTEMS

ACIDIC EFFLUENTS

COOLING TOWER WATER

For the treatment of spring water, ground water and surface water the product can be packed into a contact bed through which the water is allowed to pass. As the water passes through the MAGNOPEL bed, its pH increases as does its alkalinity and magnesium hardness. However, the pH does not increase to high levels, as can occur with other alkalis and a self regulating pH normally below pH10 is attained. This equilibrium pH is dependant upon various factors including chemical composition of the incoming water, size of contact bed and flow rate. Adjustment of these variables can be made to give the required results.

Water produced by Reverse osmosis, seawater distillation or de – ionisation can also be treated with the MAGNOPEL product to reduce its corrosiveness and improve its palatability.

Swimming pool waters and cooling tower waters normally pass through recirculation systems. Again the addition of a MAGNOPEL bed to such a system will reduce the corrosion within the system and filter out any solid material that may be present.

For the treatment of acidic waste waters the MAGNOPEL product offers an unsophisticated solution to pH correction. Once the correct flow rates and bed size have been ascertained, all that is required is that the bed be monitored and topped up with fresh material when necessary in order to replace the material that has been consumed.
